When you select a blog niche topic you will want to pick a niche topic that you enjoy writing about so you can stay on topic and generate quality information for your readers on a regular schedule. Plus you will want to consider a niche topic that will make money for your blog.
You will find that your blogging tasks will be much easier if you enjoy writing about the niche topic you select for your blog. Once you get the hang of how blogging works you may want to take on some new niche topics that you are not so familiar with.
You can’t go wrong when you provide articles with good information that are on topic. In fact this is exactly what the big search engines are looking for from your web site content. The better your content is the better you will rank with the search engines and the more visitors you will have returning to your site for updates.
Making money with your blog is a definate possability no matter what your niche topic is. You need to understand that your blog is the first product that you need to sell your readers on. Once your visitors learn to trust you and the information that you are provide to them, they will start looking at the products you recamend to them as well.
When you are selecting a niche topic you should try to come up with at least 5 ideas that you would like to blog about, then narrow the field down to one through a process of elimination. You can come up with ideas from your work or leisure activities. The topic really doesn’t matter too much at this point as long as it is a topic that you feel comfortable writing about. Be sure to select topics that you can write several articles about.
Lets say that your selected niche topics is “Guitars”. This is far to wide of a topic to cover with your blog. You need to break this down to a smaller, more targeted niche to start out with.

Investing in Classic Guitars
Guitar Building and Specialty Tools
Acoustic Guitars
Electric Guitars and Amps
You can most likely come up with more examples, but I am sure you can see the difference in the target readers that each of these niche topics will attract. The point that I am trying to make here is that some of these sub niches of Guitar will give you a much better selection of products to sell on your web site than others. This will be part of the selection process that I will talk about in my next post.
Blogging for Fun and Profit
I am going to change the topic here for a while, I what to talk about blogging and some of the reasons to have a blog.
Most people will blog about a subject that they want to share with other people that have the same interest as them or just want to learn about the topic of the blog. For example a golfer may start a blog about golf and talk about the different courses that he has been to and tell stories about the good and bad points at each course.
It could be fun sharing your information on the Internet, but there is a real possibility that you could make some money from your blog by poating the right ads along with the information that you are sharing.
Once your blog gets popular you can start investing in products to write about or travel to places where you can gather more information to share with your readers.
Now if you can’t think of anything to blog about here are a couple of points to help you to get started.
1. The topic of your blog will determines who is going to visit your site and read your work. This is really important if you are planing sell products and information to your visitors. You can sell products to any group of people, but it is much easier if you attract people with money to spend.
2. After you select a topic for your blog you need to research the topic for problems or figure out a product that people in your target group can use.
3. Write directly to your readers and remember that they are reading your post as individual visitors. Figure out their needs and supply information that they can use. Good information will go a long way toward building loyal readers and customers for your offers.
Your blog can be a gerat way to make money online while you are doing something that you really enjoy.
