Affiliate marketing has been the springboard to launch many of the big online marketing careers. Affiliate products sales is a natural way to learn to sell products online without being distracted by product creation, support, delivery or web site development.

You job as an associate marketer is to bring the buyers and products together by promoting a product for a merchant.  When the buyer buys a product that you are promoting you will earn a commission.  So, if a prospect buys a $75 product, and the product pays 50% commission – you will make $37.50 on the transaction.
 
When you promote affiliate products all you really need to do is lead interested people to a product. You only need to get the buyer together with the product and you are on your way to making a commission. The merchant takes care of the selling, delivery and support for their products.

If you are going into business for yourself you would have a hard time finding a business that cost less to start than an affiliate marketing business. Most associate programs are free to join and you can find free and inexpensive advertising all over the Internet if you just look around a little bit.
 
Selling affiliate products while you still have a day job isn’t a real problem for most people. You can work a few hours in the evening or early in the morning to get started. Some people even give up their jobs to sell products on the Internet full time as soon as they make a few bucks, but I would make sure that you have a reliable affiliate income established first.

After you get your affiliate marketing business running you will learn that it doesn’t take too much extra effort to earn a passive income from some products while you are setting up new income streams.

There have been a lot of Internet marketers that have got their start through affiliate marketing. You can learn affiliate marketing without creating a product or dealing with support nightmares. You don’t even need a website. If you are interested, you should start learning how it all goes together now. 

To get paid an affiliate commission for a product sale you need to lead a buyer to a sellers product. When the buyers pays for the product the seller will pay part of the money to the affiliate as a sales commission. In other words, an affiliate is working as a commission only salesman. 

Lets say the prospect buys the product for $40, and the seller pays a 50% commission. You will earn $20 for promoting the product to the buyer. At this point in the transaction you have earned your money and you are finished. Now the seller takes over and delivers the product, he will have to take care of the tech support for the buyer and even issue a refund if the buyer decides that he doesn’t want to keep the product. 

You will learn to make money as an affiliate marketer you simply need to introduce interested people to the seller’s products. You don’t have to do a lot of selling or even take orders. You only need to connect interested people with the products that they are looking for anyway. 

Promoting affiliate products is a great way to start an online business because you can advertise on the Internet for free or very inexpensively. This could make promoting other peoples products the perfect place to start, or expand, your efforts in creating an online income and an Internet business. 

Think about how great it would be to start your own business where you don’t need your own products, merchant account or even a delivery system. You can advertise for free or close to it to attract targeted prospects. When a prospect buys a product you earn a commission that will be paid to you or sent by direct deposit to your bank account. 

Once you get a system in place to connect the right buyers with the right products you can put it on autopilot and work on another income stream.

Take the time to learn affiliate marketing and you will have a tool in you toolbox that will almost allow you to pull money from thin air when you need it.

I put off buying the Super Affiliate Handbook for a long time because I thought that I pretty much knew everything I needed to know to make money with affiliate programs.

When I did get a copy of Rosalind Gardner’s book I discovered that I really only had part of the affiliate marketing game figured out. I should have been making twice as many sales and working less. I just didn’t understand several of the key points to promoting affiliate products and I was making it a lot harder that what it really is.

I will be doing a real review of  the Super Affiliate Handbook in the near future. For now I just wanted to get the work out so you could put your hands on some information that really works.
