Picking a Niche with Money Making Potential

When it comes to selecting a niche you may want to consider something that you already know a lot about. The problem with this approach is that what you know about may not be a good money making niche.

A good way to test this would be to go to the Google search engine and search for the keywords you would use if he decided to go for that niche. Look for paid ads at the top of the page and on the right-hand side. If the niche is making money there will be a lot of paid ads, and the ads will go on for several pages.

Here are some ideas if your original niche does not look like a niche you can make money in. The first thing you’ll wanted to go to Clickbank.com and look through the categories list for something that interests you. These categories will be your broad markets. Once you pick a broad market you will need to drill down to the subcategories. The subcategories can be your niches, or you could drill down even further to more specialized area of a niche.

Take a little time and look around for a niche that has at least a few products with a gravity of 15 to 30. This is an indication that some affiliates are making money with these products, but there won’t be too much competition for you to get your foot in the door.

For testing perposes you need to make sure affiliates are making money in that niche by looking at the gravity, payment per sale, and refunds. This should give you an indication whether affiliates are making any money in this niche or just spinning their wheels.

The next thing you need to check is whether there are active customers spending money in the niche. For this you can go to Amazon.com and look for your general niche. Pay special attention to books and products that closely match what you are promoting. Look at the feedback ratings on these products, a large number of feedbacks would indicate that there are people buying the products and that there is also a lot of interest in the products.

The next thing you need to do is to make sure that there are advertisers buying paid ads in your selected niche. To do this you can just go back to the Google search engine and search for your product keyword phrases and see how many paid Adwords Ads are running. If there are several paid ads running on the Google search pages it should indicate that there are people making money in the targeted niche.

This is a quick method to help you decide if you want to continue with the niche that you have selected or go back and select another niche that may be more profitable.
