Copywriting Tips for Beginners #3

What am I going to get out of this new product or service that you are offering me? What will it do for me right now?

Will it make me a bunch of money and throw me into a higher tax bracket? Or is it going to free up so much of my time that I will have to plan another vacation next year?

Start your sales letter out with your strongest benefit and put it at the top of the page in your headline. Make it bold, bright and make it the first thing that your reader sees when they hit your page.

You know that it is a proven fact that you only have a few seconds to capture your readers attention so put that information to good use and slap your reader with a great headline.

Don’t make your customer wade through a story about your goals and ambitions, they don’t want to hear about you. The only thing that they care about when they hit your sales letter is what your product is going to do for them.

Give them a big headline with your best benefit in it, if that is a benefit that they are looking for they will read farther down your sales copy to decide if your product is what they are looking for. They need a reason to stay with your sales letter so keep hitting them with more benefits of your product.

You have gone to a lot of trouble to get your prospective customer to your sales page so don’t let them hit the back button without at least seeing the best benefit you have to offer them.

Copywriting Tips for Beginners #2

 You need to know the profile of your ideal customer before you start writing your ad copy. You should be able to pin this down by visiting forums and find people that are having a problems that your product can fix.

While you are doing your research in the forums be sure and pay attention to the words that are used and how they describe their problem. You will need this information if you are going to write an ad that will answer their needs.

Another source of information that you may be able to find is the sales data for comparable products that are already on the market. Look for customer profile information, pricing information and their unique selling points.

Write your ad copy to match your customers profile. Use their unique language in describing the need or answer that they are looking for. Show them that you understand their problems and that your product would be their best available option.
